Basic Requirements for Family Sponsorship

Family reunification is a cornerstone of Canadian immigration. You can now sponsor your relatives, including your spouse, children, and parents, to live, study, and work in Canada once they become permanent residents. You are eligible to sponsor your relatives to Canada if you are:

• A Canadian citizen
